Travelling Galway – Belfast

The table below gives details of two sample return Galway-Belfast journeys made by public transport with Irish Rail and City Link.  All times given the timetables below have been checked, but should be checked again at the time of making a booking. Journey times via public transport are approximately 5:30 hours each way.

Journeys can be made up of any combination of bus or rail to suit. You will find alternatives and different bus/rail combinations at Get There.  It’s not possible to attend the whole programme and to return to Galway by train. It is however possible to travel back Dublin by rail and to travel on to Galway by City Link (Last bus from Dublin-Galway is at 23:45).

Journey times by road are shorter at approximately 4 hours. See  Galway-Belfast (Google Maps) for details. If you are a driver and are able to offer a seat in your car, please fill in the DRIVER FORM. Similarly, if you are looking for a lift, please fill in the PASSENGER FORM. We will then endeavour to match you up accordingly.
